SIBS has developed diverse ways such as master-doctoral program, laboratory rotation, excellent courses and the First Author Forum to enhance students’ ability of independent thinking, self-study and innovative practice. In 2008, Bio2000 Course of SIBS was honored with the special prize of CAS Education Achievement Award.
At present, there are 1467 graduate students and 102 postdoctoral fellows in training at SIBS. Between 2000 and 2008, 110 graduate students from SIBS won the CAS President’s Scholarship, the National Outstanding Doctoral Dissertations Award, or the CAS Outstanding Doctoral Dissertations Award.
